What is Sub-recipe (prep item)?

A sub-recipe, or prep item, is a component made in-house in batches and then used as an ingredient in other dishes: a gravy, a dough, a sauce. Costing it properly is the only way to cost the dishes built on it.

In Bhookly, a stock item can be marked as made in-house, with a batch recipe and a live cost. On the kitchen screen, a cook tapping Recipe on a curry can open the gravy's own card at the amount needed, scaled to the batch size, with no prices shown.
