Bhookly runs in any browser on a phone, tablet or desktop, so there is no special hardware to start. This is what it does with each device once it is plugged in.
- Windows desktop app at the counter
- A full-screen till on the PC you already own, with your restaurant's own icon. It prints receipts and kitchen tickets silently, with no print dialog, and sends each station's slips to that station's printer. When the internet drops it keeps taking orders, printing tickets and taking payment, then syncs.
- Android tablets for waiters
- The floor screen runs as an Android app on a tablet. A waiter taps a table, takes the order and sends it to the kitchen, and the tablet prints directly to network printers.
- No printer on the floor? Use the counter's
- A waiter's tablet can queue its ticket to the counter's desktop app, which prints it on the counter's USB printer. There is no network printer to buy for the dining room.
- A kitchen display on any tablet or screen
- The kitchen display opens in a browser, so a spare tablet or a wall-mounted screen will do. Number keys, arrows and Enter run the whole board, which means an inexpensive USB bump bar or keyboard works out of the box. Each station can have its own screen, its own printer, or both.
- USB barcode scanners and device cameras
- A standard USB scanner searches the menu by barcode, finds and counts stock, and reads a guest's loyalty card. Where there is no scanner, the camera on a phone or tablet reads loyalty codes at the counter or the table.
- Sized for the device it is on
- Each device scales the interface from 50% to 125%, to fit a small kitchen tablet or a monitor read from across the line. Light, dark and high-contrast themes are set per device.
- Printer setup without a technician
- A test print, an alignment ruler and a printer per station are built into settings. When a printer fails, the screen gives a readable reason. The receipt designer sets logo, header and footer lines, paper width and font size with a live preview.
