What is Par level (reorder point)?

A par level, or reorder point, is the minimum quantity of an item a restaurant wants on hand. When stock falls to it, it is time to order. It is usually judged against days of cover: how many days the current stock will last at the present rate of use.

Bhookly lists the items needing attention grouped by supplier, with usage per day, days of cover and a suggested quantity, and one tap turns the list into a purchase order. In the kitchen, a minimum can be set for staples such as oil, salt and flour, and one tap asks the store for everything running low.
