What is Comp?

A comp is an item or bill given to a guest free, usually to fix a mistake or reward a regular. Unrecorded comps are a common way food leaves a restaurant unpaid.

In Bhookly, a full comp of an item needs a manager PIN, which closes the trick of discounting a dish to zero instead of voiding it. Discounts cannot be stacked, since each bill takes one discount. To make up for a bad visit without comping today's bill, a manager can issue a service recovery coupon for the next visit, tied to that guest and logged.
