What is Running tab?

A running tab is an open bill a table or guest keeps adding to through a visit and settles once at the end.

In Bhookly, a round added to an open order sends only the new items to the kitchen, and the kitchen gets a separate alert for add-ons to a ticket already on the board. Every unpaid order stays on screen in an open orders strip, labelled by table or guest name. The dashboard flags bills left open far too long: one restaurant found a dine-in bill that had been open for seven weeks.
